Germany Job Seeker Visa

Germany, one of the most powerful countries in Europe with high growth and low unemployment. A perfect place for you to start your career path. The country also offers highly qualified employees to work in well-paid positions and encourages aspiring skilled people to visit them to look for work.

In order to be able to work in Germany, documentation will be needed. The job seeker visa for Germany is a Long-Term Residency Permit, which allows you to stay in the country for six months and look for a job. Once you found an employer, you will be given Germany work permit but be noted. You are not allowed to work or start your work while you or on your Job Seeker Visa; residence permit for job seekers cannot be extended.

How to obtain Germany Job Seeker Visa?

In order to obtain a job seeker visa for Germany, below are criteria that you need to fulfill to be eligible to apply:

  • You must have a Bachelor/Master Degree from a German university or an equivalent foreign degree.
  • You must have at least 5 years of experience in your related field of study
  • Proof of sufficient funds to cover your stay during the time you are in Germany
  • You must have medical or travel insurance for your entire stay in Germany or until you get your Work Permit

Documents Checklist:

  • Your valid passport (It should be valid for the next 12 months after your scheduled return)
  • Copy of your passport’s data page
  • 3 copy of high-quality passport format pictures
  • Cover letter where you explain the objective of your visit
  • Diploma of your degree along with any certificates of your previous jobs
  • Your detailed Curriculum Vitae
  • Proof of accommodation in Germany
  • Proof of sufficient fund to cover the cost of your stay
  • Proof of personal status in your home country, such as birth certificate, marriage certificate, and others
  • Medical insurance

Note: that having all of these documents does not guarantee you will be granted the visa. The decision is entirely up to the consular officer.

Once you completed all the required documents, you can go to your German Embassy office to submit your documents and fill out the application form for the job seeker visa. After you have submitted the form, you will be booked an appointment for an interview.
